STUDY ROOM RULES
- The study room is open from Monday to Friday in two sessions: in the morning from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and in the afternoon from 12.30 to 3.30 p.m.
- Access is permitted by reservation only, with bookings to be made by 12 p.m. on the previous day by sending an email to: as-no.salastudio@cultura.gov.it. The email must specify when you wish to access the study room (morning, afternoon or both), the type of research you wish to carry out, and any records you wish to reserve. Access is authorised only upon receipt of confirmation or a proposed alternative date, if there are no free spaces left. The email will also provide feedback on the research you have requested to carry out (we also recommend providing a telephone number in your email, which will only be used in connection with study room activities and in accordance with the provisions of EU Regulation no. 679/2016).
- If booking to attend the study room in the morning, academics can also request to remain in the afternoon, until closing, following checks on the number of available places by internal staff.
- Stationery for filling out the provided forms must be brought directly by academics. These materials cannot be borrowed from study room staff or other academics.
- If you are accessing the study room for the first time, please send an email to as-no.salastudio@cultura.gov.it specifying the type of research you wish to carry out and your preferred date. You will then need to download and fill out the form available in this page and send it back to the same email address together with a copy of your ID document. In exceptional circumstances, it is possible to hand in a paper version of the form when accessing the study room for the first time.
- Only after receiving an email from the same email address authorising their access and confirming the date may the academic use the study room.
- Users may request up to 5 record units (folders) – including acts and registers for administrative research – per visit, to be submitted by 12 p.m. on the previous day together with the request to access the study room as per points 3 or 5. For logistical reasons a maximum of 4 units may be taken from the “former church of St. Mary Magdalene” storage facility per day.
- Research for administrative purposes (Land Registry and succession searches) must be communicated in advance by email to as-no.salastudio@cultura.gov.it by 12 p.m. on the previous day. After carrying out the research using the available tools (indexes, collections), the State Archive will communicate the results of the research and the first available date for the search.
- Scientific assistance can be provided by telephone, in the study room, and electronically via the email address as-no.salastudio@cultura.gov.it.
- Pursuant to art. 108, paragraph 3 of D.Lgs (Italian Legislative Decree) 42/2004 and subsequent amendments and additions, reproductions made by private citizens with their own devices and for non-commercial purposes are free.
- The image reproduction service provided by the Institution must be booked in advance via email with payments made via the PagoPA portal. Cash payments will not be accepted.
