There are four general ways of searching the State Archive:

1. Historical research, based on a broader objective (Degree or Doctorate thesis, Publication in scientific field, personal interest...);
2. Genealogical research, for research on family trees or Italian citizenship questions;
3. Administrative research, for Land Registry enquiries or to view notarial acts or succession declarations;
4. Land registry research, to identify real estate in registers and on maps.
