Archivio di Stato di Novara

Sale of a piece of land in Briona known as Pradello by Bernardo de Feriis to Mr. Benedetto Caccia quondam Filippino for the price of 18 L., 28 November 1468

Digital archive

The State Archive of Novara is involved in the “Digital Archive” initiative of ICAR - the Central Archive Institute - with three digitisation projects:

- The "Conservatoria dei registri immobiliari di Novara2

The old inventories of the State Archive of Novara

- The scrolls of the State Archive of Novara

- Novara publicist Aldo Beldì

In this way the high-definition digital images of the old inventories and scrolls of the Cacciapiatti family are available to view online.

In particular, the inventory of the historic archive of the Municipality di Novara, Old section, written by notary Augusto Polastri in 1852 has been made accessible. This tool can be used to identify records that one wishes to view in the study room, making an ordinary request via email communicating the relative folders of interest (as indicated in the second column from the left of every page in the original inventory). Also available online are the inventories of the County of Novara, and of the Brusati and Tornielli families.

As well as the descriptions, the main web page of the archive also includes the paragraph “Access conditions”, outlining the ways of requesting to view the records.
On the right of the page is a tree structure representation of the “Polastri Inventories” series and the three archive units corresponding to the index of records and the two volumes of inventory. By clicking on the single units, the individual hi-res pages of the volumes will appear in an icon at the top of the screen and also down below, where they can be browsed and enlarged.

The project also includes a selection of images of the vast and complex archive of publicist Aldo Beldì, offering a general idea of his work.
